Permits are required for: building; mobile homes; modular homes; remodeling, electrical, and mechanical work; signs; swimming pools; elevators; and fuel tank removal. A permit must be obtained if building a structure over 150 sq ft and if there are any structural changes.

3. How long does it take to process a permit application and issue a permit?

After approval from the health department or DEQ, the applicant must complete a permit application. This takes approximately 15 – 30 minutes to complete. Upon completion of the application a permit can be issued. A permit usually takes approximately 15 minutes to issue.
